On June 23rd, 2010 Iris Lee Knell journaled her thoughts and envisioned a new way to give back after her cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Why not provide chemo patients with a way to feel better about themselves during a low point in their lives? Accessorizing and dressing up lifted Iris’ spirits, and she intuitively knew she could help others in the same way.
Fast forward to July 21, 2024, and Chemocessories, “the little non- profit that could” started by Iris, celebrated their 20,000th accessory set being made.
All 20,000 sets include a turban, scarf and jewelry to enhance a woman’s natural beauty. And all are assembled lovingly and compassionately by Iris and her team of dedicated volunteers.
Based on the feedback received, Chemocessories knows it is making a difference in people’s lives. And the volunteers and generous donors who support the cause are able to help women of all ages, all over the country, add some positivity and regain their sense of self while dealing with all the negatives of a most challenging chapter.
