At Chemocessories, we know that a cancer diagnosis is not only emotionally and physically challenging, but it can also bring unexpected financial stress. From time to time, we’re asked if we’re able to provide additional resources beyond our free accessory sets. While we’d love to do more, all monetary donations we receive go directly toward the shipping and mailing supply costs needed to maintain our program.
That said, there are many wonderful organizations that offer financial-related support for individuals and families navigating cancer. If you or a loved one is facing this journey, you’re not alone. These resources may be able to help:
CancerCare provides limited financial assistance for cancer-related costs such as transportation, home care, and childcare. They also offer copayment assistance resources, free counseling and support groups, with specific programs for women facing breast and gynecologic cancers.
The Pink Fund offers short-term financial support to breast cancer patients actively undergoing treatment. Through a 90-day grant program, they help cover vital expenses such as housing, transportation, utilities, and insurance.
While not direct financial assistance, the Triage Cancer Legal & Financial Navigation Program offers free one-on-one guidance to individuals diagnosed with cancer, their caregivers, and healthcare professionals. The program helps navigate complex issues such as health and disability insurance, employment rights, medical decision-making, estate planning, and overall financial concerns.
NeedyMeds is a nonprofit that connects people to patient assistance programs, low-cost clinics, and other financial resources.
The Medicare Extra Help program assists people with limited income in paying for Medicare Part D prescription drug costs, including premiums, deductibles, and copays. It also eliminates the Part D late enrollment penalty while you’re enrolled. Some individuals qualify automatically, while others need to apply.
While not cancer-specific, this tool created by the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America connects patients with patient assistance programs offered by pharmaceutical companies and nonprofits.
The NOCC offers support and information specifically for women with ovarian cancer. The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) Financial Assistance Program, in partnership with the Patient Advocate Foundation, aims to ease the financial burdens associated with ovarian cancer treatment and participation in clinical trials by offering support for non-medical expenses.
The Living Beyond Breast Cancer Financial Assistance Program provides one-time grants to help individuals in active treatment for breast cancer cover essential living expenses such as rent, utilities, and transportation. Applications are accepted every other month.
The United Breast Cancer Foundation offers a grant program to help individuals and families affected by breast cancer with expenses such as medical copayments, utility bills, COBRA insurance, and housing costs.
The PAN Foundation provides grants to underinsured patients to help cover out-of-pocket costs for prescribed treatments related to specific diseases, including cancer.
The Allyson Whitney Foundation offers “Life Interrupted Grants” to young adults (ages 16-36) diagnosed with rare cancers. These grants help cover everyday living expenses, medical bills, and other financial challenges that arise during treatment.
Infinite Strength provides financial assistance to underserved single mothers living with metastatic breast cancer.
